Product Description
Newly refurbished Roland pinch roller for sale. These are suitable for all Roland tape echo models.
We only ever fit these freshly restored Roland rubber rollers in the machines we sell. We send our rollers to be re-rubbered by the same people who refurbish rubber pinch rollers for studio tape machines, and we carefully replace the old bearings with high quality new parts sourced in the UK.
WHY? Why go to these lengths rather than make new rollers? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it - rubber performs better than any other pinch roller material (ever seen a studio tape machine using anything else?). Rubber is tried and tested: it lasts and will maintain its performance for decades to come (there are machines with rubber rollers that are 50 years old and still running). Finally, size does matter: we’ve seen motor issues caused by non-original/softer/slippier replacement rollers requiring more tension against the capstan. Our rollers guarantee the best performance possible: not cheap, but do you really want a cheap roller in your machine?
The combination of fresh new rubber and high quality bearings helps us to achieve the exceptional results heard in our Roland echoes: they give us a consistent baseline in terms of performance (along with various other things including one of our new tapes) in order for us to set the machine up to the highest level of performance.
Read more about these rollers and how to fit them.
Suitable for Roland Space Echoes RE-101, RE-150 and RE-201 and Chorus Echoes RE-301, RE-501 and SRE-555.
WHAT ARE THE WASHERS FOR? Due to Roland's manufacture process not every capstan is the same height. For this reason you may need either either one or two of the washers supplied. Read the full fitting instructions.
