VOCU VTE-1600 Compact Tape Echo (Fernandes/Hiwatt)

This Vocu is for sale in NOS mint condition, boxed with instructions. A slim-line compact Japanese tape delay that will fit on your pedalboard, similar to the Hiwatt tape echo. For sale serviced and in excellent working order.

Vocu stands for Vivid Output and Capable Unit – catchy! Cool and compact little tape delay – perfect for a (large) pedalboard). Sounds good and works well – uses the same loops as the Roland Space echo range – a full-featured tape echo that’s a little larger than a paperback book. Instagram demo with our SH-7 below.

Will accept mic, instrument or line level inputs, has three delay modes – 150-600ms, 500-1600ms and a combination of both short and long heads. Has mix/wet-only switch (Cue/Mix Direct) for use as an effects send, controls for Master Level, Echo Time, Repeat and Echo Level as well as Input Level. The Flutter control engages an off-centre plastic wheel against the pinch roller to introduce extra warble and sense of a machine less well-maintained (the lever will rest at the mid point giving a sensible level of flutter, or can be pushed harder against the pinch roller for momentary bouts of extra warbliness).

CONDITION: Near mint – appears to be NOS/unused. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.

Requires a 15v Centre Positive supply.

• A step-down transformer is required in the USA and UK/EU (or just replace the PSU with a correct one for mains).
• We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.
