EMS The Putney (VCS3a) for sale in excellent condition.
This is a rare chance to secure an original VCS3a in excellent condition. This is one of the most iconic and revered synths of all and is truly versatile: from Radiophonic Workshop (and Hawkwind) type bloops and bleeps, through Eno and Roxy Music and beyond. Paired with the DK-1, this is also a superbly expressive keyboard synthesizer. Tony uses his VCS-3 as much as an effects processor as synthesizer. This one came to us from a well known European musician (provenance included).
This price is for it to be supplied fully serviced by an EMS specialist, and in full working order with warranty. If the buyer wishes to take it as it stands – in good working order – we can offer a discount (but no warranty).
There are many modification options possible should the buyer wish. We are often asked whether this adversely affects value. Certainly with such a clean original example it might be viewed as sacrilege by some people, but many mods can be implemented without permanent alteration to the face so the synth could be returned to original condition in future. Tony can advise should you wish to consider any mods.
The DK-1 keyboard can be upgraded to factory DK-2 duophonic spec very easily.
