Demos of a previous machine we sold. This machine features a varispeed motor option offering the full functionality of a standard Binson but with the advantage of being able to tempo match the repeats. We can also fit a wet-only output to channel 3 for use with a mixing console (or effects loop) if required.
Our Binsons (especially valve T7E units) sell very quickly, usually before we can get them listed. If you are interested in getting one of these machines serviced and set up to our exacting standards then please get in touch to reserve one **
Excellent overall condition, missing the metal lid, replacement clear perspex cover, new control knobs. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.
Switchable voltage for use anywhere in the world - it will be set up ready for you to use before we ship.
For sales in UK/EU, this item is on the margin scheme for second hand goods. VAT-free sales are not possible for this item.
Another T7E we had through recently. Naturally, the axe-slingers amongst you will be drooling over the way these machines languidly exude classic Dave Gilmour/Pink Floyd timbres, but we’re hot under the collar about the way this one reacts to abuse: feed it a hot signal from a drum machine, crank up the input gain and swoon at the rich creamy tube overdrive and filthy distortion on the repeats.
Binson Echorecs have been our obsession for many years. They are amazingly engineered machines: where a tape echo’s input sound is recorded to tape, on a Binson it is recorded onto a circular spinning disc which has replay heads positioned around it.
Every Echorec we sell is the product of an accumulation of hundreds of hours spent dismantling, rebuilding, tweaking and listening to them. The distance between a “good” Binson and a truly “great” one may only be short in terms of functioning (how many people tell us they’ve got a Binson from somewhere that is “90% there…”); but in our experience they can be a world apart in terms of the time, patience and experience required to get to that ultimate goal.
To find out more about these machines – the history, how they work, and what we do to make them sing – head to our Binson pages now:
If a standard Echorec was considered adequate for Barrett, Gilmour, and Page, why would you modify a vintage Echorec with a variable speed motor?
