Condition and Caveat Emptor

As with all of our auctions, buyer beware applies - we don't offer warranties or accept returns, and we can't guarantee everything is in full working order. Any notes we give on condition, age, or origin are to be taken as our skilled opinion, not a guarantee of fact. We do our best to be accurate but can't be held responsible for errors or omissions. 

Although we will always do our best to describe items as accurately as possible, If we haven't mentioned a flaw, that doesn't mean there isn't one. We encourage the bidder to inspect photos closely (or get in touch with questions) before you bid, especially if certain details matter to you.

Once you have satisfied yourself with the condition and are ready to place a bid, You're welcome to bid live online or set an absentee/maximum bid in advance.

Auctioneers Rights

We reserve the right to refuse bids, withdraw or combine lots, or re-offer a lot if there's a dispute - all at our discretion, to keep things fair for everyone. We're acting as agents on behalf of the seller, so your contract for the item is actually with them, not us.

Reserves

Reserve prices may not be visible on certain lots at the sellers request even if a reserve price applies. If a reserve price is not met by the time the auction ends a winner will not be declared. 

Paying for your lot

If you are successful in winning a lot, please make payment within 48 hours - after that we reserve the right to cancel the sale or re-offer the item to the next bidder. Ownership only transfers once payment is complete. 

Our buyer's premium is 20% + VAT (24% all in) on the hammer price, with a £20 + VAT minimum. 

Collection & shipping

We will quote for shipping on all orders after the auction has ended and a winner has been declared. If you do not require shipping please contact one of our team and we will update the order promptly.

We are happy to help arrange a collection, simply get in touch after the sale and one of our team will help. Our usual collection hours are Monday to Thursday, 10am - 4pm. 

For larger or specialist items, we can also arrange for private courier or van delivery at an extra cost. 

Please note we can only release items once they're paid in full. 

Customs tax and duty charges may apply to shipments outside of the UK. It is down to the bidder to sort any import/export paperwork or CITES licences if needed.

Electrical Items

Please be aware that some electrical items in our auctions may not comply with today's statutory requirements.

We accept no liability in this regard, and it's the buyer's responsibility to ensure any electrical item is safe to use - we'd always recommend a check by a qualified technician/electrician first.

Data and Conduct

We keep track of account and bidding activity to help keep things safe and fair for all our bidders, and may share this with our auction partners where needed. Suspicious or inappropriate behaviour may result in a ban or suspension from taking part in our auctions.
