COLORSOUND OVERDRIVER - modified to vintage Powerboost spec
A 90s Colorsound Overdriver for sale in excellent condition, fully serviced and modified to vintage Powerboost circuit spec.
Made by Solasound, it is theoretically the 70s Powerboost with a master volume added and rehoused in a grey hammerite case. Serious window shaking break up when you crank it. Jeff beck made 'Blow by Blow' with it, and see also Joe Bonnamassa’s version of ‘Funkier Than a Mosquito’s Tweeter’ on The Ballad of John Henry.
This one has been modified by Martin Cooper at Coopersonic to vintage circuit spec (remove 180k resistor; add bypass cap on Q2) and Martin said it's “now sounding much better. Why they decided to **** up the original circuit I don't know, although obviously the volume control is useful. It sounded lame before the mods. The only drawback is that most of the gain range is at the end of the pot.”
Pedal is excellent overall condition with only minor signs of wear, mostly on the base. Comes with the original box.
