Serviced and sounding superb. We’ve sold a few Musicaid Clap Traps as well as the later Simmons and some are better than others, even after servicing – this one is ticking all the boxes for us sonically and is capable of some wild (and very un-clappy) noises.
There are very few analogue Clap Traps in existence. Famously used (and abused) by Throbbing Gristle and The Human League among others… Sonically it offers a wide range – from huge oceanic crashing waves of noise to rhythmically-challenged helium finger pops (thanks, Ensemble control) – there’s also occasional near-realistic electronic claps in amongst the myriad options.

The condition of this unit is good – there are some scuffs/scratches and patches of oxidation; the buttons/knobs/slider caps are replacements.

It is always possible with vintage equipment that crackly pots/sliders may develop over time when equipment has not been used – even during shipping – this can usually be easily rectified either by a few turns or in extreme cases, with suitable switch-cleaning spray.
