Rush Pepbox (Pep Box)

This is the only authentic and authorised Rush Pepbox on the market today. The original Pepbox circuit was designed and built by Pepe Rush in 1965 in London.

This was one of the first guitar Fuzz pedals and was used by a number of leading groups in the ’60s including The Beatles (who used one at Abbey Road during the recording of Revolver) The Shadows, The Animals and many others.

Now over 50 years later, Lucy, Pepe’s daughter is painstakingly building the pedals to the original spec using NOS parts and the same tools her father used.

We are delighted to be playing a part in helping Lucy continue Pepe’s legacy.

RARE NOS GERMANIUM TRANSISTORS
Built on a copy of the original printed circuit board using rare NOS (new old stock) germanium transistors, some of which are over 40 years old, to capture the unique original sound.

WELDED STEEL ENCLOSURE WITH HAND ENGRAVED PANELS
Housed in a faithful recreation of the original wedge-shaped welded steel enclosure with hand engraved panels. A very simple but stunning looking design.

There’s no getting away from it, some pedals just sound better on batteries. Especially with Germanium Fuzz pedals, batteries have always been a superior choice over power supplies for many players and the Pepbox is true to the original.
