Six channel spring reverb mixer in excellent condition, serviced and working perfectly. Shares the same spring tank as the RE-201 Space Echo.
Roland 6 channel spring reverb mixer for sale in excellent condition, serviced and working perfectly. This unit shares the same spring tank as the RE-201 Space Echo. We love the sound and the EQ is very usable – a great studio tool for summing and adding character/texture.
120v unit – more info on voltage below.
These 70s Roland mixers sound great, especially when you overdrive the inputs – can really add punch to DAW beats and synths and have a superb built-in spring reverb (equivalent to the RE-201 spring). We’ve been getting lots of positive feedback from customers using them to add texture and colour to drum machines, synths etc. Check the stock list (link above) for more models.
Output is via a single, mono 1/4″ jack at the rear. Also has an effect send and return which can be assigned to any of the channels in place of the internal spring reverb. Note that, unlike some of our previous VX-55s, this one does not have the phono and aux option on the first two channels – instead all six channels are identical.
Serviced and working well. Note that the amp section has not been tested with speakers attached. The pots and switches have been cleaned are currently fine, though it’s possible that some crackle may develop over time, especially when unused – this will usually clear with use.
See our social media feeds for these mixers in action in plenty of our demos.
In very clean condition with only minor signs of age. Handle is missing. Tolex is clean with minimal scuffing. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.
For sales in UK/EU the price will include 20% VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.
120v unit (100v originally but switched to 120v operation). A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU. We can supply a 100va unit which will work for this mixer (if you are not using the amp to drive speakers) - see the Accessories section of the site. We do not recommend using cheap, generic Chinese mains transformers.
(Not the unit for sale, but definitely gives you an idea of how we use these boxes…)

Donca Matic in Effect (part 1) - Mixing the two different outputs from this rare stereo beat box opens up all kinds of rhythmic possibilities. Highly addictive. We’re only selling it because we have another. All gear is available now. Full kit list: Keio Donca Matic Mini Pops 20S, Roland VX-55 Mixer, Hawk HR-203 spring reverb (providing distortion also), MXR Flanger Doubler, Carlsbro Mantis (very cool BBD echo). ~~~ #beats #imakebeats #factinstabeats #geartalk #vintagegear #dub #techno

While The Cat's Away Dub (Part 2) More of Gid mashing together the bits of gear that Tony left on the bench. Echomatic is such a tasty tape echo - that one was on a final test before shipping but we have another. That warm, fuzzed up kick is courtesy of the mic input of the VX-55 mixer (immediately made me reach for Mad Professor & Massive Attack...). #beats #dub

Friday Noise. In theory this is a demo, but mostly this is just what the end of a (good) week sounds like inside Gid’s head. There’s more to come from this quick rig if you want it (probably even if don’t tbh😝). Try this on headphones if you can... . It’s great to have some Roland VX mixers back in the building. What a sound. Both of these are available - it’s the 60 dealing the A-grade dirt here, but the 55 is essentially the same beast. No other processing - just our modded KR-55 driving the Psyco X Syncussion, some weirdness involving that and the SVC-350, and the truly fabulous Evans Super Echo on the effect send from the mixer.

Electro Xmas! Literally nothing says “Mistletoe & Wine” quite like a CR-78 through three MXR Flanger/Doublers (two flanging, one doubling) and a sprinkle over the top of original Musicaid Clap Trap through a hifi spring reverb and Teisco analogue delay. Oh, and a Roland VX-55 spring reverb mixer pulling it all together. Swipe left for a shot of the rig. Most of it is up for sale on the site now. ~~~ #electro #xmas #beats #imakebeats #techno #electronicmusic #factinstabeats #attackmagazine #modularsynth #pedalsandeffects #geartalk #soundgas

“If you are a vintage audio gear head then this is the place you have been looking for all your life. Pretty much any piece of classic or obscure kit that you are after is available here... But the clincher for me is that the gear they sell has been restored by their top techs (unless otherwise noted) which is really very important when dealing with, for example, synths from 30 years ago.”

“I purchased a completely overhauled vintage valve Binson Echorec 2 T7E modified with varispeed, wet-only output, and a new paint job from Soundgas in early 2018. Tony and his team did an amazing job during every step of the purchase”
“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
