Neve 5442 Desktop Mixer for sale.
Featuring eight mono 34128 channel strips in handsome desktop format. This is a classy compact analogue console that would grace any studio. Discretely modified with direct outputs, this unit has come to us fresh from a checkover with a console specialist. External power supply included – can be set for any voltage. Will ship after a final run through with our techs.

Dr Huw’s assessment of the DI modifications:
The direct outs are electronic: a board has been added using a NE5534 duel op-amp configured as a balanced output. Audio is taken from pin 17 (fader) this is after the decoupling cap connected to the output of IC3 (pin 6) this is also the the point where the PFL switch is connected. It is probably the best place to add an output (although adding a transformer directly to this point would be a mistake as it would load IC 3 and change the characteristics of the channel). I would add the transformer after a buffer/driver similar to the circuit already added although I would use a Neve module BA440 or BA640 clone to drive a Carnhill or Sowter transformer (there would not be room to fit 8 Marinair transformers) and keep things as Neve and period correct as possible!
Condition
In excellent cosmetic condition with only minor signs of wear or age. The face is clean with minor dings and scratches. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information on condition.
