Description

Electro-Harmonix Triangle Big Muff Pi v1 dating from c1972 for sale in excellent working condition.

This one has Fairchild FS37000 NPN transistors and pot codes from 1972. It’s far from a museum piece, but then these shouldn’t be in museums – they should be making glorious filthy ragged noise!

Tony says: “I’ve owned this pedal for the best part of 20 years and have nearly sold it on several occasions, but each time I plugged it in to test it I’ve ended up deciding I can’t part with it. That said, I don’t use it enough and want it to find a home where it’ll be used more: our charity auction seemed a good time to finally make the break.

All vintage Muffs sound different and the early ones even more so. I love the sound of this one but have not had another Triangle Muff to compare it to.”

 

Condition

In authentic player’s grade cosmetic condition. Looks to be all original where it counts (circuitry). Past battery leakage has eaten away some of the bottom of the case (not the board, thankfully). One pot and battery clip replaced (that we know of); knobs non-matching and quite probably non-original but that’s how it’s always been since I owned it . See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.
