Working well and ready to ship.
A pair of Yamaha NS-1000M Monitors for sale.
Cutting-edge at the time they were released in the mid-70s, using revolutionary beryllium speaker construction among other things. They cost the equivalent of around £3700 at the time. For a design that is about half a century old they hold up well against newer speakers.
These are surplus from our studio. Freshly tested and working well but otherwise unserviced by us. Occasional cleaning of the volume pots on the front is recommended to prevent any crackle/connection issues.
These are not small (although Yamaha originally sold the domestic version as ‘bookshelf speakers’!). Approximately 65cm tall and weighing in at around 31kg each.
This Sound On Sound ‘Golden Gear’ review is good, and you can find many reviews online dating from when they were produced (because they were also for high end hifi) such as this entertaining one on audiophile.com.

More detailed photos can be provided, but these give an idea of general condition. They are good overall with normal signs of use; some scuffs and wear, mostly to the edges and corners. The finish is a ‘black ash’ veneer and could be touched up to improve appearance a little. See photos for more information.
