PRICE: £17,450.00 (No Added VAT)

Truly stunning Telefunken U47 with its original M7 capsule and M stamped VF14 tube. An incredible lot in exceptional original condition and excellent working order.

Includes original power supply, original case, original cables and original shockmount.

Two optional super-rare spares are available – an extra original output transformer, plus a tested VF14 tube still in the original box. These can be added to help ensure a long healthy life for the mic.

    1. This is a brokerage item located in the USA (New York). See below for more information about shipping, tax etc.
    2. This sale includes various accessories within the main lot, plus the option to purchase some extras. All info on what is included is below.

A Telefunken / Neumann U47 for sale in exceptional, collector-grade condition inside and out. The mic itself has the original M stamped VF14 tube as well as original output transformer. The mic was checked out by the seller’s tech a month ago.  Power supply is still healthy and strong and all caps / resistors etc. are within spec.

CAPSULE: Note that since these photos were taken the original M7 capsule pictured has been replaced with a K47 capsule. The M7 capsule is in great condition – it was replaced because of a slight lack of top end, but it could be restored and is included in the sale. The K47 capsule came from the seller’s own collection of extra parts for U47s.

One power resistor was changed when the entire system was inspected by Neumann mic guru Tom Onofrio. Photos of the work done and receipt will be added to this listing shortly (or can be supplied to the buyer).

Both the mic and spare tube have been tested (for a few days each) and are extremely quiet and full bodied. As the seller said: “Since we have just about every top shelf Neumann here to compare to I’d vote that we’re a good judge on these things. We have  three U67s, an M249, another U47 that’s a short body Neumann branded one and many other condenser or small diaphragm Neumanns.”
[Demo recordings of the mic will be added to this listing in the next few days or can be sent to the purchaser prior to shipping if required.]

The microphone is located in New York and local inspection / testing is possible.

"Still in shock! Can not believe how good the seller is. This product was inspected, and shipped from the UK to the USA quicker than orders from my home state. Highly recommend these guys."

“If you are a vintage audio gear head then this is the place you have been looking for all your life. Pretty much any piece of classic or obscure kit that you are after is available here... But the clincher for me is that the gear they sell has been restored by their top techs (unless otherwise noted) which is really very important when dealing with, for example, synths from 30 years ago.”

Lincoln Barrett / High Contrast

"The packing job to get it over to the US was superb, and the sound and performance of my Space Echo exceeds all of my expectations. I hope to do business with Soundgas again in the future. Many thanks!”
