Awaiting final service and modification. Shipping will be around 10 working days from purchase.
Tascam M-208 8-channel mixer for sale, modified with direct out sockets for every channel (details below).
Supplied serviced including recapping of power supply and cleaning of all pots, sliders and switches. Defective parts are replaced with original spec parts from another donor mixer. Some crackly may be possible after a period of not being used but this should clear.
See photos of the top and rear panels for information on the functions and connections available.
Sound-wise these are, as you might expect from their era and high quality manufacture, great. Warmth and character are instantly added to whatever you put through, the overdriven sound is lovely, and the 4-band EQ gives excellent control.
DIRECT OUT MOD: We add Direct Outs on all channels. The 8x Tape In RCA sockets you see in the photos will be replaced with 1/4″ jack sockets for the outputs. They’re post-fader (so post Pre/EQ), effectively parallel to the pan pot and effect bus control. This means you get the benefit of the level off the post fader op-amp – less likely to affect the overall bus output, and a more user friendly level out of the direct outs. Plus, you get the bonus of being able to drive both the Pre op-amp, and the Bus op-amp to get a harder driven signal if that’s what you’re into… (It’s also where the M-30 and Model 3’s direct out comes from, so will react similarly).
NOTE: All the XLR outputs on these are set up for US pin configuration and cannot be switched. For UK/EU use you will need six XLR pin hot switchers. Let us know if you need assistance sourcing these. They are not expensive.
In very good cosmetic condition with scuffing towards the front edge. The face is clean with some minor tape residue marks from previous owners. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information on condition.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CLEANER EXAMPLE PLEASE GET IN TOUCH AS WE MAY HAVE MORE ON THE WAY.
100v Japanese model. For customers on 220/240v supplies we will supply a high quality step-down transformer free of charge with your purchase - let us know if this is not required. On North American mains (115/120v supplies) this unit will run without a transformer (we run all our tests using 120v power); however, a step-down transformer is recommended for extended use. We do not recommend using cheap, generic Chinese mains transformers - please ask if you have any questions about powering this unit.
For sales in UK the price will include 20% VAT. Buyers elsewhere may incur VAT or other local taxes on import.
