Simms Watts/Hohner Echo Dek

Stunning and slightly cranky old Sony endless cartridge tape echo – so creative and fun to use, bit noisy, old tape, but ace – see demo. As used by Adrian Sherwood with Primal Scream. Please don’t buy this expecting our usual perfection – it’s got character, we love it, but please read the comments below.

In less-than-perfect working order, but you don’t buy this for pristine repeats: you buy it because it’s fun and inspiring to use. A tape echo you really play (see demo)

The good part – complete, in good cosmetic order and working well following a service some time ago. The less good – the motor is not the quietest and the cartridge is quite old, has probably been reloaded at some point and has a short section that is a little damaged. It could be rewound or the offending section spliced out, but we’ve been using it and enjoying the random glitch factor it periodically introduces. Or you could pay £170 extra and get it complete with a NOS Sony cart instead.
