We’re tape and disc echo specialists with many years’ experience working with and restoring these machines. Our BBC-trained engineer brings our tape delays up to (or better than) factory spec and our testing ensures machines that have superb reliability and – most important – that they sound incredible. Guaranteed to give reliable service and sound superb.

Description
As mentioned above this machine is slightly unusual in that it is located in the USA (with our US tech). So we’re only shipping this one to the USA or Canada – the price you see here includes £75 shipping so you will not be charged any more at check out. It is serviced to our usual high standard and is supplied covered by our standard one year warranty.

Roland Space and Chorus Echoes are amazing machines – and this is their ultimate development in tape echoes – quieter than the others – but with the multi-head echo combinations, spring reverb, superb Roland chorus and Sound On Sound. It is a Chorus Echo RE-501 in a rack case – we don’t see them very often and they are always quick to be snapped up.
It will be supplied freshly serviced and soak-tested and it won’t go out until it meets our standards. This will include a full service with our tape echo specialist with various new parts as required; including new tape. Set up so it will go into self-oscillation. Ready to give reliable service.

REPLACEMENT TAPES: Fitting any tapes other than those from us or Echo Fix will invalidate the warranty on our machines. We have sourced unused and dry-stored original formulation tape stock as used by Roland for their original RT-1L replacement loops and limited stocks of our replacement loops are available now. We’ve written a bit about our journeys in tape, which replacement loops to use in your Roland echo, not to mention the misinformation and poor quality tapes that seem to fill the internet. We may also have a very limited supply of sealed original NOS RT1-L tapes – see our store or get in touch.
There are currently no operational issues with this machine, but please be aware that these units require looking after and that regular use and maintenance are key to keeping this in good working order.
Some crackle is always possible from pots/switches when not used for a while – this can be cleared with use.
Condition
In excellent cosmetic condition with only minor wear around the face, the edges have been re-painted black and present well when racked. Internally, this unit is superb with minimal oxidation to the chromed surfaces. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.
Voltage Information
220/240v unit. A step-up transformer will be required for use on 110/120v supplies. Please ask if you need advice on what to use. We do not recommend using cheap, generic Chinese mains transformers.
