The original Chorus Echo. Serviced to our high standard, set up for your voltage and supplied with 12 month warranty.

We’re tape and disc echo specialists with many years’ experience working with and restoring these machines. Our team of engineers headed by BBC-trained Doctor Huw bring our tape delays up to (or better than) factory spec, and our testing ensures machines that have superb reliability and – most important – that they sound incredible. Guaranteed to give reliable service and sound superb.

We’ve serviced and supplied machines for many artists and bands including Hannah Peel, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys, Hainbach and Sunn O))).

Description

Roland RE-301 Chorus Echo for sale.

Working very well following a full service by our tape echo specialist with various new parts as required, including new tape. Our precise head alignment and calibration allows us to push these beyond factory spec in terms of how good they sound. Work done included:

  • Full electrolytic recap on PSU
  • Swapped diodes on PSU
  • Swapped fuse holders on PSU
  • Installed new mains cable
  • Top service, heads aligned and re-honed 
  • Cleaned pots, switches and sockets
  • Bias adjustments
  • Reverb tank service
  • Adjustments to head gain and intensity and peak level lamp

Supplied with 12 month warranty and ongoing service support.

The RE-301 is a great piece of kit: the multi-head echo combinations, Accutronics powered spring reverb, Roland chorus and the Sound On Sound feature all add up to a classic piece of studio gear.

REPLACEMENT TAPES: We recently worked out what formula Roland used for RT-1L loops and published the information. Fitting any tapes other than those from us (or Echo Fix) may invalidate the warranty on our machines. Limited stocks of our replacement loops are available now. We’ve written more about our journeys in tape, which replacement loops to use in your Roland echo, not to mention the misinformation and poor quality tapes that seem to fill the internet.

There are currently no operational issues with this machine, but please be aware that these units require looking after and that regular use and maintenance are key to keeping this in good working order.

Condition

In good cosmetic condition with scuffs and wear to the decals. The case is clean with only minor wear. Internally, this unit is excellent with some oxidation spotting to the chromed surfaces. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information on condition.

Lead Time

Ready to ship pending final testing and voltage change if required. Estimate is 10 working days from purchase.

Voltage Information

120v model. For UK/EU buyers it will be supplied with a high quality voltage transformer.

Tax

For sales in UK the price will include 20% VAT. Buyers elsewhere may incur VAT or other local taxes on import.
