PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Serviced, guaranteed and sounding superb; new 240v transformer fitted.

Buy your 201 from the company who supplied Roland with Space Echoes for their ‘Cause And Effects’ show celebrating 40 years of Boss pedals – read more here.

Excellent example of the mighty Space Echo, for sale serviced and in excellent working order. Sounding as good as they get and working very well following a full service by our tape echo specialist with various new parts as required, including new tape.

240v machine (100v Japanese machine that has had a new transformer fitted by us). Correct plug will be fitted for UK or Europe. Customers on 120v supplies: if this unit here is not available please get in touch.

CONDITION: This unit is in excellent cosmetic condition with some small scattered dings to the face. The tolex is very clean with minimal scuffing. Internal surfaces are clean with one noticeable patch of oxidation on the top section, this does not affect the functioning of the unit. Has had one of our new English instruction sheets fitted along with a replacement tape changing diagram. See detailed photos for more information.

Heads in excellent condition showing low wear.

For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number – please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.

Want a cheaper or mintier machine or a different voltage? We may have machines in a range of conditions (and prices) coming through – check our other listings or get in touch if this unit here isn’t the right one for you.

We’re tape and disc echo specialists with many years’ experience working with and restoring these machines. Our BBC-trained engineer brings our tape delays up to (or better than) factory spec and our testing ensures machines that have superb reliability and – most important – that they sound incredible. Guaranteed to give reliable service and sound superb.

Visit our in-depth Roland tape echo information pages now for everything you need to know about these machines.

Roland Space and Chorus Echoes are amazing machines – if you’re only going to have one tape echo, then this is the one (IMHO): the multi-head echo combinations together with a great spring reverb adds up to a classic piece of studio gear, the sound of which you’ve heard on countless records. It could be said that this machine is the sound of dub.

REPLACEMENT TAPES: We’ve written a bit about our journeys in tape, which replacement loops to use in your Roland echo (not to mention the misinformation and poor quality tapes that seem to fill the internet). And we supply tried and tested replacement Roland tape loops (they come from Echofix in Australia). These are the only tapes we recommend; using any others in our machines will invalidate our guarantee. We may also have a very limited supply of sealed original NOS RT1-L tapes – see our store or get in touch.

There are currently no operational issues with this machine, but please be aware that these units require looking after and that regular use and maintenance are key to keeping this in good working order.

Some crackle is always possible from pots/switches when not used for a while – this can be cleared with use.
