Rare example of a very early native 220/240v RE-201 Space Echo, for sale serviced and in excellent working order. Superb sound comes as standard with our machines, but this one still manages to stand out above the rest. Has had a full service by our tape echo specialist with various new parts as required, including new tape. Working very well and covered by our guarantee of your satisfaction.
220/240v machine (not converted). Correct voltage will be set and plug fitted for UK or Europe.
Heads show some wear as you would expect with an early machine but it is not significant and the repeats are even and clear.

REPLACEMENT TAPES: We’ve written a bit about our journeys in tape, which replacement loops to use in your Roland echo (not to mention the misinformation and poor quality tapes that seem to fill the internet). We don’t have tape stock currently, but you can buy tried and tested replacement Roland tape loops from Echo Fix. These are the only tapes We may also have a very limited supply of sealed original NOS RT1-L tapes – see our store or get in touch.
There are currently no operational issues with this machine, but please be aware that these units require looking after and that regular use and maintenance are key to keeping this in good working order.
Some crackle is always possible from pots/switches when not used for a while – this can be cleared with use.
This unit is in very good cosmetic condition with some scuffs and scrapes showing up on the face. The tolex is excellent with a few scuffs, there is one small section which as acquired some slight damage on the left side of the unit. Internal surfaces are clean with minor signs of age. Has original English instruction sheet fitted. See detailed photos for more information.
220/240v unit. A step-up transformer will be required for use on 110/120v supplies. Please ask if you need advice on what to use. We do not recommend using cheap, generic Chinese mains transformers.

Roland Space and Chorus Echoes are amazing machines – if you’re only going to have one tape echo, then this is the one (imho): the multi-head echo combinations together with a great spring reverb add up to a classic and incredibly versatile piece of studio gear, the sound of which you’ve heard on countless records.
