Plug and play vintage chorus perfection (analogue BBD MN3001 chorus – definitely not “digital”…)

Description

Roland DC-50 Chorus for sale. Uncommon and a very early Roland product. These sound great – very “sea sick” and wobbly at the max setting.

This 1970s Roland chorus box obviously shares some DNA with the Boss CE-1, however they are not that similar in terms of the circuit – for example the Boss uses MN3002 chips and this uses MN3001. It’s a pretty simple beast – you can’t vary the speed of the chorus or hall echo (short delay) so it’s really just a case of plugging in and dialling in the intensity of effect required. See below for a useful comparison video between this and the chorus in an RE-301.

Serviced:

  • Full electrolytic recap
  • Changed diodes in PSU
  • Replaced mains cable, earthed chassis
  • Cleaned pots, switches and sockets
  • Replaced tantalum capacitors

Condition

Superb cosmetic condition with minimal wear or signs of age. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information on condition.

Voltage Information

Ready for 120v use. A step-down transformer will be required for use on 220/240v supplies.
