Original Mark 1 Octave CAT Model 1853 analogue synthesizer. Serviced and in perfect working order. See below for Instagram demo of the last one we sold.

These classic US synths are vastly underrated and represent excellent value for money compared to their more famous rivals, the Minimoog and Arp Odyssey. They are hard to find, and highly-rated by synth cognoscenti. The flexible nature of this synth means it really punches above its weight: particularly notable features are the cross modulation options and mixable waveforms. It dates from the mid to late 70s and sounds like a classic 70s American monosynth should: powerful and tonally brilliant. Sound design-wise it’s almost limitless with an abundance of bass, leads, and sound effects on tap – it’s easy (and very rewarding) to lose yourself for hours programming this beast…

Condition

In excellent overall cosmetic condition with only minor wear to the face. The end cheeks are clean with some minor damage to the edges and corners. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.

Voltage Information

220/240v unit. A step-up transformer will be required for use on 110/120v supplies. Please ask if you need advice on what to use. We do not recommend using cheap, generic Chinese mains transformers.
