Super-rare Frank Zappa envelope following flanger/doubler. Just wonderful. One of two we have listed.

Description

One of two MicMix Dynaflangers we have for sale currently.

These rare effects have a unique sound and were a key part of Frank Zappa’s sound. As Dweezil Zappa said in an interview in Guitar Player:

“The Dynaflanger tone is my all-time favorite. It’s essentially a time-modulated sound that reacts to the envelope threshold being manipulated by the player. It creates an amazingly realistic double without the predictability of an LFO. It’s like a living thing that reacts to what you’re doing. It’s so cool! That tone has been one of the hardest to replicate, but it has also inspired me to play things I would never play otherwise. It’s a big part of Shut Up ’n Play Yer Guitar as well as my Live in the Moment records.”

This one is the later of two without the somewhat “prototype” build of the other we have listed and a very slightly smoother sound.

Condition

In excellent cosmetic condition with some minor wear and signs of age. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information on condition.
