Description

Hawk HR-101 “Echo Unit” for sale. Like quite a few Japanese effects from this era “echo” means reverb in this case. One of a pair we have currently – they would work well as a stereo reverb.

More Hawk spring reverb goodness. Another great unit that just absolutely does it for us when you overdrive it and get some distortion.

This model seems to be more of an “either/or” unit (compared to the likes of the HR-202 and HR-45). The reverb sounds very good, or you can drive the input hard via the mic in for some truly great overdrive. However, with some sources we’ve tried combining both and driving the spring hard doesn’t produce such great results.

  • It is a 100v Japanese model – will run on North American mains 115/120v without a transformer (we run all our tests using 120v power); however, these units have some audible transformer hum and this is worse if voltage is not correct so a step-down transformer is definitely recommended for extended use.
  • A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.
  • We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.

Condition

In very good overall condition with only minor wear to the face. The top has some rack rash. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.
