Another stunning instrument from the classic era of Japanese guitar making. This Greco from 1980 is a superb homage to Hofner’s Violin Bass as played by The Beatles’ Paul McCartney – we’ve all fallen for it. Has had a full set-up by Dean Rowbotham at Bedford Guitars including new strings. Plays very well indeed and sounds great – comes complete with original case in good condition.
Head is in excellent condition with minimal signs of age. The only noticeable damage is a very small chip to the the finish at the very top edge. The neck is in incredible condition with next to no signs of age anywhere. The body is in excellent condition with only a few scratches and dings appearing on the back and around the edges. These bits of damage can only be seen at specific lighting angles. The metal parts of the guitar are showing a bit of oxidation but nothing too noticeable. Some crackle is possible from the pots when they’ve not been used for a while.
