Monster 1950s broadcast valve/tube compressor. An incredible sounding thing in beautiful working order.

Part of a collection of vintage studio gear we are selling on consignment. These items are located in the USA which means shipping and tax will be worked out after the sale (see below for more information).

Supremely musical compressor with 11 valves and monster transformers.

Notes on the restoration from the owner:

This Gates SA 38 was completely recapped, A4 was changed to 68v zener diode, release control moved to the front of the unit from the back panels and retubed where necessary.

All tubes are vintage or NOS tubes. The 6V6s are a brand new matched pair. Full functions test, servicing, and calibration performed.

This item is located with our trusted techs in NYC. We only sell items by brokerage with trusted clients who understand their gear. As a brokerage sale, payment will be made to us but will be held in escrow for the seller until the buyer confirms satisfactory receipt of the item. The buyer has 14 days from receipt to raise any concerns, after which we will release funds to the seller. Full terms available on request.

Condition

In very good cosmetic condition with some scuffs and scratches to the face. The top right corner is broken as shown in the photos. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information on condition.

Voltage Information

117/120v model. A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU. We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.
