The Grand-daddy of the mighty Space Echo, an An Ace Tone EC-20 Echo Chamber for sale in really excellent condition and working order.
This is a vintage Japanese tape echo, fully serviced and refurbished with parts replaced as needed to bring it up to a high standard of operation. We really like these fore-runners of the legendary Roland Space Echo tape echo units (Ace Tone is the company founded by Ikutaro Kakehashi who went on to found the Roland Corporation) – they are high quality machines with a great sound (demos below).
Price includes VAT at 20% (for sales in UK/EU) – buyers outside the EU please contact us for tax-free prices. VAT-free sales possible to businesses and individuals in the EU with a valid VAT Number..
Condition of this unit is certainly excellent with only minimal signs of age – click on the photos to zoom in.
We’ve done two Ace Tone demos, both featuring this actual EC-20 unit. The first features guitar and a 70s Ace Tone FM-3 Fuzz Master pedal, and in the second a late 60s Rhythm Ace FR-1 drum machine through the fuzz pedal and the EC-20 (producing some wild and (very) analogue techno…).
100v Japanese model – it will work on North American mains without a transformer, but you should check your local mains voltage first – please ask us if you have any questions. A step-down transformer can be used in the UK/EU. We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made transformer if required.
There are no known operational faults with this unit.
(Please note: it is always possible with vintage equipment that some crackly pots/sliders may develop over time when equipment has not been used – even during a short delivery period – this can usually be easily rectified either by use or with a bit of switch-cleaning spray).
