Private Auctions – Info + T&Cs
We have the facility to run private auctions. Here’s a quick guide to how they work, plus some Terms & Conditions for bidders.

Quick guide to Soundgas Private Auctions:
A Soundgas private auction works on a similar basis to ebay (proxy bidding): you enter your maximum bid and the site automatically bids for you up to your maximum. If you are not able to be online when the auction ends, you can still take part.
Where it differs from ebay is in regard to late bids (sniping) – if a bid is entered within the final minutes of the auction, the end time is extended. This ensures there is no advantage to placing a very late bid/sniping.
These auctions will not be viewable by the public: registered bidders will receive a password to enter the auction.
We will not publicise the final price.
Items may need to undergo a full service and thorough testing before leaving us. If so there will be info in the listing and delivery time/shipping costs tbc.
Private Action T&Cs:
- Payment in full is required by wire/bank transfer in GBP only (credit card payment by prior arrangement only will incur a surcharge of 3.4%). Paypal is not accepted.
- Minimum of 50% of the sale price to be transferred within 24 hours of auction end; balance within 5 working days.
- We reserve the right to cancel the winning bid and offer to the second highest bidder in the event of any request for extended payment terms or payment being made via an unauthorised means.
- If you don’t already have an account on the Soundgas site, you will also need to sign up before you can enter the auction.
- You agree not to share your login or password with a third party, nor to publicise the sale price.
- There will be no additional buyer’s premium (fees) – the price you bid will be the total, excluding shipping and VAT (if applicable – 20% VAT will be added at the auction end for UK buyers only).
- If the item is to be serviced by Soundgas prior to shipping (unless buyer requests otherwise) delivery date will be tbc.
- A shipping quote will be provided to the winning bidder after the auction ends.
- We reserve the right to end the auction early, cancel bids or take any steps we deem necessary to protect Soundgas and our customers.
- Placing a bid denotes you have read and accepted the terms of the auction.
