If not a new language, then at least a very challenging, old dialect that will take me some time to assimilate. I've been waiting a long time for the challenge. Thank you @soundgasltd, she's a beaut..and noboy prepares and packs like you fine folks.

When you are spending big money on vintage gear it's nice to have the confidence of impeccable service, sales and support... some of the best in the industry! Impeccable people, incredible equipment... my poor, poor fiance.

I purchased a completely overhauled vintage valve Binson Echorec 2 T7E modified with varispeed, wet-only output, and a new paint job from Soundgas in early 2018. Tony and his team did an amazing job during every step of the purchase

DREAM. COME. TRUE. My music has taken me around the world a few times...and if you are like me and absolutely adore vintage gear...Soundgas is the stuff of LEGENDS. It's the shop that people like us search for our whole lives- fantastic and rare selections, and the technical know-how to repair and or mod these vintage items to get them into shape to flow with your modern setup.

Imagine the perfect eBay.... with everything you never knew you wanted… and you can rest assured that your vintage and rare wobbly sound device will turn up on time and in one piece and possibly in even better condition that when it left the workshop. Soundgas - literally amazing.

If you are a vintage audio gear head then this is the place you have been looking for all your life. Pretty much any piece of classic or obscure kit that you are after is available here... But the clincher for me is that the gear they sell has been restored by their top techs (unless otherwise noted) which is really very important when dealing with, for example, synths from 30 years ago.

I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.

Soundgas offer a great service, sourcing esoteric gear that works great.
TOM ROWLANDS - CHEMICAL BROTHERS
Every step of the process felt thoughtful and smooth.
The seller was kind, responsive, and made the whole experience truly pleasant.
I’m grateful for their care and professionalism.
Highly recommended.
Recently acquired a month condition RE201 but on first use the tape was sticking, dragging and coming loose. I cleaned everything but there was zero first so I replaced the tape with this Soundgas tape. The machine now runs and sounds like a dream! Thank you Soundgas!!
Like a pultec eqp1a this is a real game changer unit like you wanna run every tracks into it. The sound become way much warmer and present so easily. You can push hard into it and still super musical and pleasant.
Best purchase I did so far lately
For such a small and simple looking box this is a really massive piece of Kit and having spent a few hours with it is not enough to give an adequate review. What I can tell you from a lifetime of recording and messing around with electronics (See Quadelectronic on youtube) is that this provides beautiful shimmering delay and repetitions which will substantially enhance my approach to ambient music. I highly recommend you explore this on youtube.
At the first use stage, I could not understand Hologram Microcosm. But after discovering its reactions and creativity, it makes me feel like getting into a Rolls Royce every time. I have never felt such a warm and analog feeling up close. Now, I am happy to have a rare ''atari''. Thank you again.
A magical box that can play unexpected ♪
Once I'd got Weaver I had to have Box Of Uncertainty too. This is so much more than an effect or an instrument - it's an inspiration machine capable of creating rhythms, drones and surprisingly melodic sequences from a few seconds of audio. The only problem I have is remembering to record the output so I can capture those moments of pure brilliance!
Very interesting preamp - lots of grit of course. Sounds great on guitar as you would expect, but so far I like it most on chorus vocals to get some extra focus and energy.
I tried it on bass, (Low Impedance Break in/out > DI>Padded 5116-B), but I found the curve from clean(ish) to break up to be a little too fast so that the peaks were quite distorted while the body of the notes were not, even at around 10 o'clock with a passive bass. Hind sight, could be that it was hitting the subsequent preamp too hard. This thing adds a LOT of giddyup to the signal. Interested to try it the other way (Bass DI>636-P), but haven't gotten around to it yet.
One of my favorite parts of owning a piece like this is the pleasant surprises you get through experimentation. Sometimes you'll crank out an entire track without even noticing it.
Great work, SoundGas!
I was exdcited when these were released for the 500 series rack, and got even more excited when I started using it. Great for Black Ark-like flavours, giving grit and dimension to electronic instruments, or as a deep and stromg Bass DI.
The signalflow and I/O also makes it easy to use it as a preamp in fromt of a guitar amp. It sounds special as a mic pre on drums and guitars and vocals.
I love having character gear in the rack, to use for very specific sounds or to use for those special occassions. This is all that, but somehow an all around flexible tool at the same time, that will see constant use in all kinds of sessions.
I’m addicted to the genuinely limitless rhythmic options of this device, which I feel is more an instrument than an fx pedal (like its close relative, the Box Of Uncertainty - also for sale here). Grab any sound - found, prepared or otherwise, and let The Weaver do its magic. If you like what you find, then have a hand recorder (like a zoom or similar) to grab it, as there’s no re-finding it once you move the dial …but that IS the joy of it - passing discovery, serendipity and chance. All adding up to a superb creation!
This is an instrument (yes definitely, not an fx pedal) that you should spend time with. You listen together, you sample anything, then have a conversation about it together. It responds to you, you respond to it. The longer you interact, the more interesting it gets. Nuanced movements give rewards, wild alterations give chance a say. Serendipity produces a lot of loveliness, and this is why I love this uncertain little box. Tired of the predictable? Get one of these… VERY NICE.
The Weaver is an amazingly inventive device which creates sounds like you never imagined from a 2 second recording. Start using it and disappear down the rabbit hole...👍
I absolutely love the Weaver, the only limits are your imagination and attention, this is how it should be. It would be nice if when in rhythm mode and clocked, the random chops could be not just on downbeats but easy enough to edit in the DAW. Weaver and Box Of Uncertainty are my two favourite instruments right now. Simplicity is complex.
